Naked Sushi...

Naked Sushi, properly known as Nyotaimori, is the practice of eating sushi from the body of a woman. The custom of Nyotaimori began more than 400-years ago during the Edo period of Japan. It was during this Golden Era, under the Tokugawa Shogunate, that Nyotaimori flourished as a noble and decadent art form for the elite ruling class.

 

 

For hundreds of years Nyotaimori has been observed as an art form only for the elite. Susan Ridley became a partner in the Hendry Winery in 1995.  She and her husband Tom have been George’s neighbors for over thirty years and also have a small vineyard.  In 1995, Susan retired from her career as director of the nutrition department in a large San Francisco medical center to develop the Hendry brand and manage winery sales and marketing.  Her enthusiasm and warmth are infectious and she makes friends for Hendry wherever she goes.
