"Funky Monkey = Great Catering!" by Jacquelynne
September 23, 2009 - Likes it - I have enjoyed Funky Monkey's incredible food on a number of occasions, and have always been extremely pleased! I would especially recommend Funky Monkey for catering. Eddie and his incredible staff catered an event for well over 300 people for our group, and they did an incredible job. People raved over the quality and quantity of the gourmet menu the Funky Monkey chefs prepared. The bar service was wonderful, as drinks were served quickly and efficiently, avoiding the bar back-up that so frequently happens with groups of this size. But with Funky Monkey's professional service and attention to detail, everyone had as much food and drink as they pleased, with ease. We especially enjoyed the beef sliders and ahi tuna appetizers that were served! It is one thing to prepare incredible food for restaurant parties; it is another thing to take a gourmet menu to a grand scale and dazzle the tastebuds of more than 300 people! I strongly recommend Funky Monkey to anyone who is looking for a memorable dinner or for a caterer for events, large and small.
Eddie,
I knew from the moment I walked into the Funky Monkey that our wedding reception would be a wonderful experience, it really was! Eddie, you are so welcoming, we knew you were on top of your game. The reception not only lived up to our expectations, but exceeded them. Thanks again for the great food, the warm atmosphere, and the talent of your chef. Please pass along our gratitude on to your entire staff...
Also, I thought you guys would maybe want a copy of the review from our photographer. Also, I attached a few shots from him "pre-reception". I'll send some photos from the reception as soon as we get those back...should be in the next couple of weeks or so.
Thank you again,
Christina & John

The theme to this wedding was "Vintage" & fun.
This couple was fun and not concerned with the "traditional" wedding plans. Infact there was no limo to whisk them away, but instead they rode away on John`s "vintage" looking vespa.... How FUN!!!!.
Anyway,On what was a beautiful Saturday and made for a wedding which was held at the Maitland Art Center. With about 45-50 guests, some of which came as far away as Germany to be a part of this and to see Christina and John exchange vows. John, was looking very cool in is pinstriped vintage look. As a matter of fact I think the dress Christina wore was a true vintage dress from the 1940`s. As many of the images will show there was a lot of tears from not only Christina & John, but many of the guests as well. It was not my ordinary "venue" style that is typically held at big, hotels or ceremony halls. The small and intimate setting is outdoors with lots of trees and spanish moss dripping from every branch. We were able to take images at several different locations all within the area. By the the way several of the images were taken of them at speeds of @45mph. Chris my assistant was driving while I hung out the passenger window to get these. ((I Love my job)) even if it means risking my life. If you have never been nor seen the Maitland Art Center you should.
One last note, the reception: Held at the "Funky Monkey wine company" & restaurant in Orlando. This too is a small and very stylish place, from american to sushi, from beer to many types of wines. I was very impressed with not only the ambiance but how good the food was. Thanks for making me feel so comfortable around all your friends and family.
You guys are AWESOME!
Best wishes,
Scott
